Similarities and Differences: Faith
Islam is built on both faith (Iman) and actions (deen), and both are of equal importance. Whereas Christianity is founded on faith alone—actions being a byproduct rather than a fundamental requirement. Islam teaches that salvation must be earned. In contrast, Christianity holds that salvation must be received by grace through faith.
Similarities and Differences: Practice
The Pillars of Islam are the core duties of Muslims according to Islamic teachings. A Muslim who does not fulfill these duties is often considered to have strayed from the faith, though theological views on this vary. While these duties partly resemble practices in the Christian faith, they are also diametrically opposed in fundamental ways.
